What got us started?

Claymates originated as two small pottery businesses located in Maryland and Virginia. The businesses consisted of three sisters casting, glazing and firing ceramics. They loved to share their passion for creating pieces that families would love to have in their homes. Over the years, the aunts collected thousands of molds and created unique ceramic pieces. They frequently shared these with friends and family on many occasions like wedding, birthdays, etc. These businesses were inherited by family in Michigan. Rather than moving to these businesses, the family moved them to Michigan with the idea of transforming them into a paint your own ceramics.
